Description
The introduction of advanced 'green' technology helps the Belarusian economy both reduce energy costs and preserve the environment. It is of special importance for small and medium-sized towns that have much fewer opportunities for development.
Project Goals and Objectives: Facilitate green power generation with local renewable sources; provide incentives for rational water management; improve waste management at regional and local levels. Achievement of these objectives requires procurement and use of state-of-the-art equipment.
Intermediate Outcomes: Specialized equipment – separate waste collection containers, specialized trash trucks, conveyer belts for sorting and processing municipal solid waste – is supplied under the Project. Work on the organization of separate waste collection and processing is carried out in Navahrudak, Chocimsk and Kalinkavičy. A state-of-the-art waste sorting and processing line will be put into operation at Brest Waste Recycling Plant.
It is planned to supply equipment for the production of fuel bricks from biomass, fuel pumps and solar thermal collectors, state-of-the-art boiler equipment, as well as drain and sewage water treatment plants.
