Energy days to be held in Polack

Energy days to be held in Polack from May 25 to June 25 in the frame of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) that takes place across all of Europe. Activities in Polack will include city quest for everyone, sports and intellectual tournament for pupils, summer architectural school, online contest, etc. Activities program is available at the link: https://goo.gl/3PeVD5.

From 5 to 18 of June everyone is invited to workshops on constructing small architectural form for the city (pavilion), to take part in lecture about vertical landscaping and create bicycle parking. The pavilion will become a place for organizing workshops on the topic of energy efficiency.

Urban orienteering competition takes place in Polack on June 10. Teams will solve puzzles and find secret codes and have great opportunity to learn more about the city.

Sports and intellectual tournament is organized for teams from the school camps of Polack from 19 to 23 of June. The winner should show the best results in both parts of the activities - intellectual quiz and football game.

During the online contest from May 25 to June 25 in Energetic Polack group in VKontakte participants will follow suggested advises how to save energy at home. The author of the most popular picture at the Polack Energy Days-2017 photo area also can get a prize.

Activities in Polack to be held in the frames of PubLiCity project, as a result of which city will receive modern and energy-efficient street lighting. The project is being implemented by Polack District Executive Committee and Interakcia Foundation with the financial support of the European Union.

As the first Belarusian signatory of the Covenant of Mayors from 2011, Polack is aimed to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% until 2020. Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy is a global initiative that unites local, regional and national authorities in pursuit to reduce CO2 emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change. At the moment there are 27 signatories of the Covenant of Mayors in Belarus.
