7.5 km long bike path opened in Kobryn

On November 8, 2018, a cycle path was opened in Kobryn, which links the sights of the city. Its creation was made possible thanks to the participation of the city in the Covenant of Mayors on Сlimate and Energy, as well as financial support from the European Union.

After the solemn words from the vice-chairman of the Kobryn District Executive Committee, Valentin Trubchik, all the participants of the event got on their bicycles and drove along the new cycle path.

To create a bike path, road markings were made, the height of curbs and sidewalks were reduced, the roadsides were strengthened, 189 road signs, 32 LED floodlights, 14 bicycle parking lots were installed. 12 bicycles were purchased to set up a rental center, and traffic lights were set up for the safety of cyclists.

The bike path was opened in the framework of the local initiative of the project «StrongCoM — Strenthening the Covenant of Mayors Movement in Belarus» funded by the European Union. Works were carried out by Kobrin housing and communal services under the leadership of Kobryn District Executive Committee.

The cycle path passes through the main streets and the historical center of Kobryn. A walk along it will take about an hour and will allow you to get acquainted with the main sights of the city.

Vice-chairman of the Kobryn District Executive Committee Valentin Trubchik noted:
