An interactive educational studio Ecotechnum, for children of all ages, has been founded in Minsk; it explains, where energy comes from, how to save it and how to live in harmony with nature. Fascinating experiments will reveal the secrets of physics, chemistry and biology; they will help realize, how the things and phenomena around us are organized.
The opening ceremony was attended by officials of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Energy, the Energy Efficiency Department, Minsk City Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and Mr Magnus Sätterberg, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Sweden in Minsk.

- I am very happy to know that this project was developed with support from Sweden represented by SIda Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and Forum Syd, its partner organization, - said Mr Magnus Sätterberg.

- When we talk about such complex environmental issues as energy saving, waste treatment or chemical safety, our words often remain unheard. It is important for people to be able to see and touch tangible examples. Upon realization of these facts, you start treating resources differently and change your habits. Discussions of solutions of environmental problems would ultimately boil down to our way of life. The studio is generally aimed at forming an eco-friendly way of life. We hope that people will come here, observe the exhibits and reflect about environmental issues, - noted Mr Yevgeny Lobanov, Director of the Centre for Environmental Solutions.

The Studio was built by staff of the Centre for Environmental Solutions in cooperation with the Republican Centre for Innovative and Technical Creativity, where the studio is Located.

- Today, the issues of ecology are first-priority around the globe. They are in the focus of the public, governments and academia. I am certain that the Studio will enjoy success among students and that it will complement in a cohesive manner a large number of activities carried out by our establishment – said Mr Sergey Sachko, Director of the Republican Centre for Innovative and Technical Creativity.

- We are positive that the Studio will appeal to both children and adults who are not always quick on the uptake about the ways of existence in the changing surroundings. The Studio will also help adults realize, why it is necessary to sort waste, where water from the sink goes to – said Ms Daria Chumakova, Deputy Director of the Centre for Environmental Solutions.

The Studio displays exhibits that explain the laws of physics and tell about energy efficiency and waste. The Studio’s "bosses" are the superheroes: Water, Sun, Wind and Biomass. They are stronger than all comics superheroes altogether, as they give life to all people on the planet!
At present, the Studio operates in a test mode; it is available for group visits by appointment at telephone +375447085220.
