On 18-19 March, experts from Spain will conduct a workshop in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on anti-terrorism strategies, tactics and techniques.
The aim of the workshop is to share European best practices in combating terrorism. In particular, participants of the two-day seminar will discuss the experience of the Spanish Civil Guard in the fight against terrorism and the means used to adapt its tactics and techniques in order to tackle new terrorist threats.
It will also foster the capacity of Belarussian law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism and ensuring public safety, especially in the context of upcoming mass sports events, namely the 2nd European Games and the Ice Hockey World Championship.
The workshop is being organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX), in cooperation with the Anti-terrorism Special Unit/Ministry of Internal Affairs/French Republic Gendarmerie and the Spanish Civil Guard Anti-terrorism GAR Unit.
