Light festival took place in Polack for the first time

Between August 31 and September 2, 2018 Light Festival will took place in Polack for the first time in the framework of City Day. What is it and which activities were held during this celebration of light art?

During the festival, 10 light installations appeared on Polack streets. Intense programme is expected visitors, there were more than a dozen events in the city and online. Read more on how this festival took place there:


Current Light Festival was held during the City Day within the framework of Energy Days, which take place in Polack since 2012.


Light Festival is a part of PubLiCity project, which is funded by the European Union within EU4Energy initiative. Project is being implemented by Polack District Executive Committee and Interakcia Foundation. As a result of project, public lighting will be modernized on 16 Polack streets.

The EU4Energy Initiative covers all EU support to improve energy supply, security and connectivity, as well as to promote energy efficiency and the use of renewables in the Eastern Partner countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. It does this by financing projects and programmes that help to reform energy markets and to reduce national energy dependence and consumption. Over the longer term, this makes energy supply more reliable, transparent and affordable, thus reducing energy poverty and energy bills for both citizens and the private sector.More information on:
