The lecture of Gergin Borisov "What needs to be done in order to make public transport less time-consuming?" will be held in the "Ў" Art Gallery (19 Kastryčnickaja St) on 4 November, from 18.00 until 19.30.
Gergin Borisov – is a co-founder and the brand manager of the SpasiSofia (Sofia, Bulgaria) organisation.
Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, has long struggled for ensuring a high quality of its public transport. The numbers of passengers and public transportation speed there are on the decline in spite of the billions of euros invested into the metro system development. Though the city is facing challenges, Sofia provides a great case for studying various solutions for improving public transport. In his presentation, the expert from Bulgaria will dwell on special measures to reduce travel time, streamline schedules and redistribute the niches of various public transport types. Gergin Borisov will particularly focus on the issue of bringing new passengers with such new transportation services, as night-time transport.
Gergin Borisov took part in the development and justification of the Sofia night-time transportation system (2014-2018), which was successfully implemented. At present, he is the Design Director and the manager of a team of developers of a new system of universal visual orientation for the Sofia metro (2016-2016). The expert has the IT master's degree from the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies.
The lecture "What needs to be done in order to make public transport less time-consuming?" is co-arranged by the Minsk Cycling Community and the Centre for Environmental Solutions in partnership with the Minsk Urbanistic Platform within the framework of the Minsk Urbanistic Forum. The lecture was supported by the European Union under the "Urban Cycling in Belarus" project.
