We invite you to take part in a contest on setting up eco-monitoring clubs!

The contest for support with establishing eco-monitoring clubs on the basis of 'green schools' is held among educational institutions under the project on "Community involvement in eco-monitoring and environmental management improvement on the local level". 

The project is financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Belarus in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus. The project is aimed at effective and inclusive environmental management on the local level, monitoring of environmental risks, exchange of ecological information, in particular, in the sphere of ambient air quality. 'Green school'- based eco-monitoring clubs will facilitate accessibility of ecological information for general public, public involvement in eco-monitoring, community engagement in solution of the district's ecological problems; they shall also facilitate the interaction of educational institutions, local authorities, nongovernmental organizations operating in the sphere of environmental management and rational use of natural resources.

Seven winners will be selected from among educational institutions, where eco-monitoring clubs will be established on the basis of 'green clubs' (one 'green-school'-based eco-monitoring club per region in Belarus, and one club in Minsk). The 'green-school'-based eco-monitoring clubs will cooperate with Belgidromet, regional 'green school' support/resource centres, national 'green school' resource centres.

Applications are due from the 15th of October until the 10th of November 2018.
