A new section of EuroVelo-2 cycling route opens by the beginning of the tourist-cycling season

A new section of EuroVelo-2 “Naliboki-Belaya Vieža Forest” opens by the beginning of the tourist-cycling season. The cycling route interconnects the entire Europe, beginning at the western coast of Ireland and crossing the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Belarus.

The previously developed section provides connections between Minsk, Minskaje Mora, Ratamka, Zaslaŭje, Rakaŭ, the Valožyn area tourist cluster and Naliboki Forest. The new section crosses such locations and landmarks as the Neman River, Liubča Castle, the Chreptowiczes’ Estate in Ščorsy, Navahrudak, Sviciaź Lake, Slonim, Žyrovicy, Kosava Castle, the Sapiehas’ Castle in Ružany, the Szwykowskis’ Palace in Pružany and Bielaviežskaja Pušča Forest.

It will take even a well-trained cyclist more than a week to cross the 480-km distance from Minsk to Bielaviežskaja Pušča and visit all attractions.
EuroVelo2 route is recommended for cyclist travel in terms of its appeal and road safety. It runs along public access roads, forest tracks and bicycle paths.

The route is designed for individual cycling tourists. Cycling tourists will not stray from the route along the Naliboki-Belaya Vieža section owing to special signs and information stands.

Information about EuroVelo-2 route is available at Eurovelo.by website. There, you can download the route track and guide to your phone; you can view a description of the route attractions. The marked overnight lodging and catering locations help travel along the route comfortably: this time, you can leave your tents and cooking pots home.

The Naliboki-Belaya Vieža section of EuroVelo2 cycling route was developed under the Urban Cycling in Belarus project, which is financed by the European Union and implemented by the Centre for Environmental Solutions and Minsk Cycling Community NGO.
