EU helps older people in rural Belarus fight social isolation during COVID-19 pandemic

Older people in rural Belarus are staying connected during the COVID-19 outbreak, thanks to the digital skills they have learnt from an EU-supported course.

Over two years, more than 80 senior citizens in the Homieĺ region received training in digital literacy through the Computer from scratch course, which is now helping them to keep in touch with their friends and family online.

The course was part of the Support to local development in the Republic of Belarus EU-funded project, which was implemented by United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Economy.
