Providers of social and tourism services in Valožyn district invited to participate in EU-funded contest

An EU-funded contest for private providers of social and tourism services has been launched in the Valožyn district, Minsk region. Up to five winners are to receive between 2,000 and 7,000 euros each to adapt their services to the needs of people with disabilities. With an overall budget of 25,000 euros, the contest will be held in the framework of the “Valožyn without Barriers” project financed by the European Union.

The winners will receive funds to implement their initiatives for improving the quality of social and recreational services for people with disabilities, according to the organizers of the contest. “The initiatives should be aimed at creating attractive innovative tourism products that stimulate interest and increase motivation for travel and recreation in people with disabilities,” noted Valeriya Klitsunova, chairperson of the board of an NGO called Country Escape.

Applications for participation in the contest will be accepted until 31 March. The winners will be selected by a jury consisting of representatives of the Valožyn District Executive Committee, the Belarusian Association of People with Disabilities and the Interakcia Foundation, among others.

The “Valožyn without Barriers” project is being carried out by the Interakcia Foundation, the Country Escape Belarusian Public Association, the Belarusian Association of People with Disabilities, the Valožyn District Executive Committee, and the Valožyn Social Service Centre.
