Providing Support to Regional Cluster and Socially Important Initiatives

The Project “Support to Economic Development at the Local Level in the Republic of Belarus” announced the second Call for Applications of Initiatives on Entrepreneurship Development in 12 districts of Belarus.

Financial support will be provided to initiatives within two focus areas. The first focus area will comprise cluster initiatives that include a set of actions to build and sustain collaborative partnerships between geographically localized businesses and individuals with a view to forming a cluster that will develop and strengthen the competitiveness of its participants.

The other area – socially important initiatives – will include business initiatives that aim to address a social challenge, develop inclusion or expand assistance for socially vulnerable groups.

“The best strategy for district development is to build partnerships with all stakeholders, including public organizations, private and public institutions, businesses and government authorities, who will interact to create mechanisms for sustainable local development.

In addition, all supported initiatives should contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus and meet UNDP’s Social and Environmental Standards, ” said Kiryl Stsezhkin, UNDP Programme Coordinator (Socio-Economic Development) in Belarus.
