What is the Light Festival in Polack?
Light Festival is a light art event which will take place this autumn in Polack for the first time. Such festivals are very popular abroad. Light installations will appear in the streets in the city centre; night city tours, workshops, flashmobs and contests will take place during the event as well.
Light Festival will be the final event of the EU-funded project “PubLiCity”. As part of the project, new energy efficient public lighting will appear on 16 city streets. Polack District Executive Committee and Foundation “Interakcia” are the organizers of the festival.
Project “PubLiCity: energy efficient modernization of public lighting in the city of Polack” is funded by the European Union in the framework of EU4Energy initiative.
The EU4Energy Initiative covers all EU support to improve energy supply, security and connectivity, as well as to promote energy efficiency and the use of renewables in the Eastern Partner countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. It does this by financing projects and programmes that help to reform energy markets and to reduce national energy dependence and consumption. Over the longer term, this makes energy supply more reliable, transparent and affordable, thus reducing energy poverty and energy bills for both citizens and the private sector.More information on: www.EU4Energy.eu.
