The equipment for the work of the housing and communal services and calendars with children's drawings was handed for Marjina Horka

On January 16, 2018, two events related to waste management were held at the Marjina Horka. Local housing and communal services received new equipment to improve the waste management system in the Puchavičy District. And in the SEI "Maryinogorsky UPC kindergarden ‒ secondary school" children were awarded prizes for winning the drawing competition.

The transfer of a new bulldozer and a minibus to the UE "Zhilteploservis" CS took place in a solemn atmosphere. Program Manager of the Delegation of the European Union to Belarus Philippe Bernhard, Deputy Chairman of the Puchavičy District Executive Committee Andrei Kremen, Director of the Zhilteploservis CIO Iosif Kuchko, Executive Director of the IPO "Ecopartnership" Alina Bushmovich in a welcoming speech stressed the importance for the development of the area of ​​the acquired equipment. It will help eliminate spontaneous landfills in the district and organize the collection of electronic and electrical waste in rural areas.

‒ The Puchavičy District is located in the center of Belarus and probably the largest number of garden associations are located on its territory. It is their members who most often form unauthorized landfills next to their partnerships. All this equipment will help to get rid of spontaneous landfills, to remove garbage and to straighten littered territories, to plant forests there that will continue to bring wood, or eventually to go to the field that can be used, ‒ Andrei Kremen underlined.

On the same day, the winners of the drawing contest on the correct treatment of waste among the educational institutions of the Puhavichy district were awarded at the " Marjinaрorski UPC kindergarden ‒ secondary school". Its organizers were the Education, Sports and Tourism Department of the Puchavičy District Executive Committee and the IPO "Ecopartnership". The jury selected 12 best works, which became illustrations for the wall calendar. It is distributed free of charge in the Puchavičy District and it helps to attract the attention of residents to issues of natural dumps, composting of organic waste, separate collection of garbage.

Both events were held within the framework of the "Strengthening Waste Management Services for the Rural Population of Puchavičy District", funded by the European Union, whose budget is 391.7 thousand euros. For two years of the project implementation, a strategy for integrated waste management of electronic and electrical equipment was established in the Puchavičy District, 7 educational institutions installed containers for composting organic wastes, and information work with residents on waste management issues was carried out. It includes distribution of booklets, brochures, posters and other printed products, installation of 3 billboards in the district, training seminars, competitions and actions with educational institutions and residents.

In 2018, it is planned to install containers for collecting batteries in public places, putting into operation a site for storing waste electronic and electrical equipment, and conducting information events.
