Certificates were presented to representatives of the winning initiatives by Tatiana Migal, Head of the Department of Specialized Medical Care of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Andrea Wiktorin, Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Ambassador, Zachary Taylor, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in the Republic of Belarus.
"For us, the BELMED project is a significant help. It is important that the implemented initiatives are integrated with the activities of the Ministry of Health", noted Tatyana Migal.
"We do not like much when somebody tells us what we have to do to be healthy. It is important we are seeking creative ways to convince people that a healthy lifestyle meets their interests", said Andrea Wiktorin.
"We are pleased with the opportunity to create initiatives to counteract non-communicable diseases in Belarus with financial support from the EU and the leadership from the Ministry of Health", underlined Zack Taylor.

The initiatives will promote outdoor sports, healthy lifestyles and healthy eating among schoolchildren and their parents, involvement of people with disabilities in sport activities, physical activity of the elderly by the establishment of a club for teaching Nordic walking and biking, etc.
