Description

Creativity and innovation, as key components of the cultural process, have a positive effect on most diverse spheres of social development.

Goals and Objectives: Support cultural and creative industries; increase their contribution to sustainable humanitarian and socio-economic development of the Eastern partnership countries.

Intermediate and Expected Outcomes in Belarus: A key area of the programme activities is to improve qualifications of journalists covering cultural topics.

In April 2016, representatives of mass media and general public met with George Carey, a former BBC editor and an independent UK producer. Master classes on the basics of cultural journalism will be held in November 2016 – April 2017 for media representatives and bloggers, with the participation of international media experts.

A key objective of the year 2016 is to train leaders in the sphere of culture. It is planned to select, based on an open contest, 50 persons engaged in that sphere (cultural initiative managers and supervisors, gallery dealers, librarians, museum experts, advertising agents, architects, representatives of other creative industries). Workshops on project management, financial literacy, promotion and communication will held for them in 2016-2017.

The Culture Matters media campaign will held with the support from TUT.BY and CityDog.by information resources. The materials published there will highlight successful cultural projects that have been implemented both in Belarus and in the European Union.

A Belarusian creative industry survey is to be held under the project in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
